How it works

You preview the songs on the web site, if any meet your needs, visit the sister site at www.uniquesongs.com and create an account to access the free download area. You just help yourself to as many songs as you like. There are far more songs on that site too!

All the songs on this web site have been written or co-written by Neil Preston and we retain the copyright, but you are free to use, record and perform the material. Only if, a very big if, the song becomes a commercial success with a commercial record label/broadcaster would we receive any royalties. See information below about Performing Rights and Mechanical Copyright Protection Society.

The primary reason for doing this is to help young singers and know that the songs are being sung, heard and hopefully enjoyed. If we can help anyone's career a little, that's reward enough. Young singers often can't afford original material, so at least you've found one resource where you won't get charged a penny!

Subject to availability, we may be able to create a new song for you. There's no charge for this service, but we restrict this to artistes who get out there and perform and have a good chance of success. Demand is high so we have to be choosy.

We can also provide the chords and/or MIDI files in most cases so you can create your own versions of the songs.

The basic principles of royalty collection and distribution are explained on its website, which also features information on how artists/publishers can register work and businesses can obtain a license for the public performance of copyright music. Other PRS membership's benefits include the possibility to attend regular 'surgeries', a loan scheme, and referral services to lawyers and accountants.
